Los Angeles Dodgers Weather Playbook: Chavez Ravine Consistency, Division Variance

Home advantage

Dodger Stadium in Chavez Ravine plays consistent warm dry marine-influenced conditions night to night. Onshore southwest wind blows out toward left-center at typical 5 to 12 mph. Dry air suppresses carry relative to humid parks. Santa Ana wind events in September and October reverse the pattern briefly with hot dry offshore flow.

Division road environments

NL West is the highest-air-density-variance division in baseball. Coors altitude, Chase Field closed roof, Petco marine, Oracle bay wind, and now Sutter Health Sacramento heat span the extremes of MLB weather environments.

For DFS and bettors

Consistent conditions at Dodger Stadium make it easy to model. Santa Ana events are the leverage: hot dry offshore at 15-plus mph can push carry significantly above the park's usual profile. Road games in extreme environments require wider variance handicapping than home totals.
