Climate
Oracle Park sits on the south side of downtown San Francisco directly on the bay. Summer weather is cold and windy: July averages around 68 degrees at SFO with dew points in the low 50s. Marine-layer fog and stratus are common through morning and afternoon and often persist into evening games.
How wind plays here
Wind at Oracle is the defining feature of the park. Strong westerly bay flow, channeled through the Golden Gate, blows toward right field and McCovey Cove. Wind speed of 15 to 25 mph is common in July and August. Cold air and heavy carry-suppressing conditions combine to make Oracle one of the least favorable home run environments in the majors, particularly to left and center.
For DFS and bettors
Cold marine air and strong wind blowing toward right are the consistent conditions at Oracle. Warm dry September afternoons with offshore flow are the rare exceptions. The park favors pitching in virtually all typical weather.
