Cincinnati Reds Weather Playbook: GABP Hitter-Friendly, Division Variance

Home advantage

Great American Ball Park is consistently one of the top run environments in the majors regardless of weather. Warm humid nights with southwest wind out to center and right push the park into elite hitting territory. Cross-winds along the Ohio River axis are common but the park runs friendly to hitters in essentially all typical conditions.

Division road environments

NL Central takes the Reds into Wrigley wind swings, Milwaukee retractable, PNC Park river wind, and Busch Stadium St. Louis heat. Wrigley wind direction and Milwaukee roof status are the biggest single-game weather variables.

For DFS and bettors

GABP's built-in home run profile means small weather effects have outsized total impact. Warm humid nights with any component of wind blowing out are consistently mis-priced by season-averaging models.
