PNC Park Weather: Allegheny River Wind, Pittsburgh Summers

Climate

PNC Park sits on the north bank of the Allegheny in downtown Pittsburgh. Summer weather is warm and humid: July averages around 84 degrees at PIT with dew points in the mid-60s.

How wind plays here

Center field is to the northeast (bearing 55 degrees). Southwest wind, funneled along the river from the west, blows out to left and center. Wind at PNC is often channeled by the river valley, which makes ground-level readings differ from higher-elevation surface observations.

For DFS and bettors

Southwest wind days combined with warm humid conditions are the friendlier hitting environment. The park's right-field wall is close, so left-handed pull power is the primary beneficiary of wind out to right.
