The Texans play in a retractable-roof stadium. Roof closes for most September and early October games because of Houston heat. Closed conditions produce climate-controlled indoor football with no weather variance.

Division road environments

AFC South road trips include Indianapolis retractable roof, Jacksonville warm humid coastal, and Tennessee moderate. Retractable-roof status in Houston and Indianapolis is the primary variable.

For DFS and bettors

Roof status is the day-of-game leverage at NRG. Assume closed for any Houston high above 90. Closed roof removes weather; open roof plays as warm humid outdoor football.
