The Bills play open-air just south of Buffalo close to Lake Erie's east shore. Late-season and playoff games regularly play in freezing temperatures with lake-effect snow risk from November through January. Wind off Lake Erie affects kicking accuracy and downfield passing.

Division road environments

AFC East road trips include Miami's warm humid setting, Foxborough's coastal cold, and MetLife's Meadowlands wind. Miami is the largest environmental contrast on the Bills schedule.
