Tampa Bay Rays Weather Playbook: Dome Baseball, No Variance

Home advantage

The Trop is a fixed dome. Every Rays home game plays in air-conditioned 72-degree stillness with no wind. That gives the Rays the most predictable home environment in the majors and removes weather from their home totals entirely. Rain, heat, and Florida afternoon thunderstorms outside do not reach the field.

Division road environments

Rays road trips into the AL East meet coastal humidity at Camden Yards, Fenway sea breezes, Yankee Stadium in the Bronx heat, and Rogers Centre retractable. The Rays travel from a climate-controlled home to almost every kind of weather environment the season offers.

For DFS and bettors

Home Rays totals are the cleanest weather-agnostic prices in MLB. Road Rays totals are where handicapping wind and temperature matters most, since their home park gives them no adaptation to outdoor variance.
