Target Field Weather: Minneapolis Cold Snaps, Prairie Wind

Climate

Target Field opened in 2010 in downtown Minneapolis. April games regularly play in the 40s, and snow delays are possible in early season. Midsummer is warm and can be humid, but dew points swing widely depending on air mass. September nights turn cold quickly.

How wind plays here

Center field is to the northeast (bearing 45 degrees). Southwest wind blows out to center and right. North wind blows straight in from center. The Twins park runs windier than average because of downtown Minneapolis channeling.

For DFS and bettors

Watch dew point more than temperature. A 75-degree game with a dew point in the 40s plays like a mid-60s game for ball carry. Warm humid nights with south wind are the run-scoring setup here.
