Oakland Coliseum Weather: Bay Wind, Marine Air, Deep Foul Ground

Climate

The Coliseum sits about a mile from San Francisco Bay in Oakland. Summer conditions are cool and windy: July averages around 74 degrees with strong onshore flow. Marine-layer stratus is common for morning and evening games. Dew points stay in the 50s.

How wind plays here

Center field is to the east-southeast. Strong westerly bay wind, channeled through the Golden Gate and the Bay, blows out to left and left-center during typical summer afternoons. Wind speed of 15 to 25 mph is common in July.

For DFS and bettors

Oakland pairs cold marine air with big foul ground and heavy wind to left. Wind out to left with warm afternoon temps is the only reliably friendly hitting environment. Cool foggy nights are among the toughest offensive settings in the majors.
