Nationals Park Weather: DC Humidity, the Anacostia River

Climate

Nationals Park sits on the north bank of the Anacostia in Southeast DC. Summer conditions are hot and humid: July averages around 88 degrees at DCA with dew points in the upper 60s. Afternoon thunderstorm risk is high through July and August.

How wind plays here

Center field is to the north-northeast. South wind blows out to center and right. North wind blows in from center. The Anacostia channels flow slightly along the river axis, but the effect is small compared to lakefront parks.

For DFS and bettors

Warm humid summer nights with south wind produce the friendliest hitting conditions. Rain delays and thunderstorm risk are the main variance to track for June through August home games.
